In my line of work – project management for a marketing agency – it's important to be able to send files efficiently and quickly. For example, we just finished a photography shoot of one of our client's top executives. Hundreds of photos were taken, but, of course, we only want to send the best of the best for review. While the app is available for both Mac and Windows users, for my purposes, I'm looking at the Mac version.
User Interface
When I first opened the app, I was sort of taken aback because the user interface, while easy to understand, doesn't really look like a ‘Mac' app. There are plenty of third party apps that I've worked with that are designed to look like they belong on an Apple computer and I really appreciate that. This one looks like it was created for Windows and made to work on a Mac.
Besides the look of the interface, the actual utility of the app is quite easy to understand. To start, you simply drag and drop photos into the window. The app analyzes the files and then shows their data in the file menu within the app. Your next step is to set the conversion settings how you would like to see them. You can choose to resize your images or leave the dimensions alone. Then you choose your output format, quality and target folder. Once you have all your settings ready, you click on ‘convert' and the files are automatically saved out.

The app also gives you the option add entire folders or images by browsing through your computer and not just dragging files onto the app window.
Quality of Output
The output quality of the images produced by the app are impressive. I resized five images that were high resolution JPGs and the process was not only quick, but it also gave me really nice images to be able to use. The resizing worked as expected and I did not experience any problems in the process.
Conclusions
While there might be some ‘prettier' interfaces in the marketplace, Graphic Converter is a robust batch converter that works really well. I would recommend this to anyone who has to regularly change size or format of images in large quantities.
